Save the dates for the 25th Annual Altoona International Jewish Film Festival February 22, 2024 The Levy's of Monticello and selah. selah. is an anthropological documentary investigating the unique lifestyle and culture of a community of Black Hebrew Israelites residing in the “Village of Peace '' Dimona, Israel. selah. is co-directed, co-produced and edited by Altoona native Casey Rispoli. He is the son of Tobi and Dave Rispoli & a graduate of Penn State University. We have planned the following: Appetizers and Dinner 5:30 to 6:30 pm at our NEW LOCATON, the Agudath Achim Social Hall followed by the movie at 7:00 pm at the PSU Altoona Devorris Downtown Center. The Altoona Jewish Film Festival was created in 2000 to bring the riches and diversity of Jewish content films to the Jewish and general communities in our area. Typically four films are shown yearly during the month of February and vary widely in content. Prior to each film, the Federation helps sponsor a community dinner. Funding for this evening is through admission fees and Federation sponsorship. A committee from the Jewish community plans each year’s festival. Unfortunately, the 2021 and 2022 Festivals were limited to individual films at Lakemont Park and Arts Altoona due to the COVID pandemic. View Fliers from Past Festivals: 2023 Film Festival |
